Walk4Hearing

Do you know there are 48 million people with hearing loss in the United States? Chances are that you or someone you know has a hearing loss. People with this “invisible condition” have little support and face obstacles as they struggle to communicate with family, friends and co-workers in a hearing world.

The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA), founded in 1979 by Howard “Rocky” Stone, opens the world of communication to people with hearing loss through information, education, advocacy and support. Our goal is simple: to reduce the impact of hearing loss on a person’s daily life. Our message is simple: hearing loss is a daily challenge you can overcome and you do not have to face it alone.

HLAA’s Walk4Hearing is a national program designed to raise awareness about hearing loss and funds for both national and local programs and services for those with hearing loss. The Jacksonville Walk4Hearing will be held on November 9, 2013. This 5k Walk event will be held at the Metropolitan Park.
